Hello, Genesee!

My name is Jay Magro, and I am thrilled to be your principal of Genesee Jr/Sr High School.  I am going into my eighth year as an educator and have spent the last four years at Genesee as an athletic director and special education teacher.  I am excited to take on this new challenge and will work diligently to help provide an exceptional educational experience for each student.

I come from a sports family.  I was a pitcher on the Olivet College baseball team for four years in college, where I learned about being resilient, showing up, and working as a team.  I take those values with me daily and will continue in this new role.  The photo you see is my wife, Ellen, and my daughter Ava.   I have had an incredible support system, and I understand the role that can play in one's success.  At Genesee, we will strive daily to create an environment where students feel supported and valued.   We have a fantastic team of educators looking to make a difference in students' lives, and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead them.

Hello, Genesee!

My name is Adrienne Temple, and I’m honored to join Genesee Schools as your Jr./Sr. High School Assistant Principal and the district’s Home to School Coordinator. I have over 22 years of experience in education, a passion that is driven by a deep commitment to student success.

I believe in fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment where students and staff can thrive, and families feel connected. I’m excited to continue to get to know our students and families, and to support excellence throughout our district and the community.

Outside of school, you will likely find me supporting my own children, three of which are still in school. My husband, David, and I have a blended family that keeps us running from one event to the next! Our two oldest, Trenton and Torri, are both Kearsley High School graduates and our other children, Trevor, Brayden, and Noah, attend Kearsley and Davison. They are active in Football, Basketball, Track, Bowling, and Baseball!

When we are not busy at our own children’s events, I like to support our Genesee students at as many after school activities as possible. If you see me, please feel free to introduce yourself or say hi!
